Via Veneto and “La Dolce Vita”

It’s impossible not to think about La Dolce Vita when walking along Via Veneto in Rome. In fact, it was not just a film, but the emblem of an entire era and a lifestyle, that of the rising stars of cinema, artists, directors, actors. Made up of elegant bars, paparazzi, scandals and…Rome. Are you ready for a journey back in time?

The Spanish Steps and “Roman Holiday”

The Spanish Steps and “Roman Holiday”

Released in 1953, Roman Holiday was the first American film to be entirely shot in Italy. The Spanish Steps is the place where Joe found Ann eating a chocolate gelato she bought from a cart at the base of the steps, in the Piazza di Spagna. Anne was played by Audrey Hepburn in her first starring film role, while Joe was played by Gregory Peck. Together they were regarded as one of the most beautiful couples in cinema.

The Trevi Fountain and “La Dolce Vita”

The Trevi Fountain and “La Dolce Vita”

Used as the setting for the most iconic scene in Federico Fellini’s film La Dolce Vita, starring Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni, the Trevi Fountain was the place where the unforgettable kiss between the two protagonists took place. Let yourself be transported by the romance!

Navona Square in the movies

Navona Square in the movies

If you are a fan of Dan Brown’s novels and movie, you definitely want to see the spot where one of the most dramatic scenes of “Angels and Demons” was shot. You will immediately recognize Bernini’s dramatic Fountain of the Four Rivers, in Piazza Navona, as the place where the assassin drowned the last of his four victims. For the fans of Italian cinema, instead, we designed for you a quiet night walk in a deserted Piazza Navona, as the protagonist of the Oscar-winner movie “La Grande Bellezza” loves to enjoy it.

Trastevere and “To Rome with Love”

Trastevere and “To Rome with Love”

Among the filming locations of this romantic comedy directed by Woody Allen there is Trastevere, an authentic postcard for perfect scenes. To Rome with Love is a declaration of love to Italy and the capital, to its actors (including the Oscar winner Roberto Benigni) and to the Italian lifestyle, but above all a reminder of Fellini's “Dolce Vita".
