Borghese Gallery Tour

Borghese Gallery Tour

3-hour museum tour

Easy - Accessible

In the extraordinary Villa Borghese, the green heart of Rome, we will discover one of the best preserved art collections in the world.

The museum collection started during the seventeen century by the Cardinal Scipione Borghese to connect ancient and modern art. Roman sculptures - reliefs and ancient mosaics - co-exist perfectly with the paintings and the sculptures from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century. Cardinal Borghese was a sophisticated art collector who decided to support famous artists of his time, as the young Gian Lorenzo Bernini - by including his great statues in the architectural project of both the Villa and the adjoining gardens.

During the visit of Borghese Gallery, it is possible to admire the most famous collection of artworks by Caravaggio (six paintings) - the unique statues of Bernini - the iconic portrait sculpture of Paolina Bonaparte and many more masterpieces. From the elegance of Raphael to the realism of Caravaggio. From the harmony of Titian to the fire of Bernini. From the introspection of Antonello da Messina to the virtuosity of Canova. The greatest pieces of art history are displayed here for the delight of museum visitors.
