This walking tour has been conceived as a journey into Florence’s past. It is meant to unveil the history hidden behind facades, statues and slabs, moving from main sites through medieval alleys and old squares while sharing the stories of men and women that made this city so unique.
We will enter the Accademia Gallery for an exclusive tour that will allow you not only to visit the Accademia but also to admire some masterpieces by Michelangelo and to learn more about his career under the Medici Family. You will see Michelangelo’s magnificent “David” as well as his powerful “Prisoners”, which were intended for the tomb of Pope Julius II, the marble sculpture of “Saint Matthew”, as well as the poignant “Pietà”. The tour will end with the visit of the Academy of Art, where casts and statues are on display.

Named after the Palazzo della Signoria, also called Palazzo Vecchio, it is the main point of the origin and history of the Florentine Republic and still maintains its reputation as the political focus of the city. Nowadays, it is the meeting place of Florentines as well as the numerous tourists, and gateway to Uffizi Gallery.

It is home to some of the most important painting and sculpture collections from the 13th century to the early 15th. Furthermore, the Accademia Gallery exhibits the largest number of Michelangelo's sculptures in the world, including his renowned David.
